From Antti Paalanen’s new solo album Breathbox, released November 22, 2010. Music is composed by Paalanen and produced by Kimmo Pohjonen. Antti Paalanen is one of the leading musi­cians of modern Finnish folk music. Paalanen grad­u­ated as Master of Music from the Depart­ment of Folk Music of the Sibelius Academy in 2006. Paalanen plays the accor­dion in many famous folk music groups like Hehkumo, Hyper­borea, Kiharakolmio, Trepaanit and the duo Turkka ja Paalanen. Duo’s album Hali­tuli won the Etno Emma award in 2006. Trepaanit, Hyper­borea and Hehkumo have also been nomi­nated for Emma award, which is equiv­a­lent to Grammy award in Finland. Hyper­borea and Kiharakolmio have both been named groups of the year at the Kaustinen Folk Music Festival.
